MIMAROPA policemen over the weekend hauled to jail eight wanted persons during separate anti-crime operations in the region, Police Regional Office 4-B director, Brigadier General Tomas C. Apolinario Jr. reported yesterday.
One of those arrested is a most wanted rape suspect in Oriental Mindoro who was caught in Baco municipality at 5 a.m. Saturday, the official said.
Suspect Ernie Manlangit, the 6th most wanted person in the province, was arrested in Sitio Kahing in Barangay Dulangan 1 in Baco by the local police on the strength of a warrant of arrest for rape issued by Judge Manuel Luna of the Calapan City Regional Trial Court Branch 39 with no bail recommended.
The suspect is now being held at the Baco police jail pending his presentation to court, said Apolinario.
Another suspect identified as Jessie Acuña, a 46-year old jobless resident of Bgy. dela Paz, Proper in Batangas City who was arrested by members of the Socorro Municipal Police Station and the local Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on the strength of a warrant of arrest for two counts of rape issued by Judge Recto Calabocal of the Pinamalayan Regional Trial Court Branch 42 in Oriental Mindoro.ed
No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused who is now being held at the Socorro police jail.
The 3rd identified as retired Air Force serviceman Mayolito Aparicio, 61, a resident of Sitio Purok 2 in Sta. Maria, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro was arrested on the basis of a warrant of arrest for arson issued by Judge Edralin Reyes of the Roxas, Oriental Mindoro RTC Branch 43. A P120,000 bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the retired soldier.
