LAUR, Nueva Ecija — The decomposing body of a three-year-old boy who was reported kidnapped sometime last month was found on Sunday in the hinterlands of this town.
Town police head Capt. Jonathan Romero identified the victim as Jackdanyel Hernandez of Sitio Bateria, Bgy. Bagting, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija.
Romero said barangay tanod Joel Santi was looking for himbabao leaves at the site when he chanced upon the boy’s cadaver at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The boy was wearing a brown jacket, white shorts, white brief and a pair of slippers with Batman markings when found at Gulugod Baboy Mountain in Sitio Tumamang, Purok 3, Bgy. San Felipe.
With the discovery of the child’s body, Romero said the kidnapping and failure to return a minor charges filed before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against suspects Jocelyn Modelo and Robby Zamora, both of Bgy. San Felipe, will be amended to murder.
Romero said the boy’s remains will be subjected to autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
