BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Health in Caraga Region (DOH-13) received on Wednesday afternoon additional 36,000 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines.
The Sinovac vaccines were formally accepted by DOH-13 Assistant Regional Director Sadaila Raki-in at the Bancasi Airport here.
The vaccines are now stored at the cold-chain facility of DOH-13 in Barangay Doongan.
“Around 18,000 members of the priority groups for the vaccination in the Caraga region will benefit from the newly-arrived vaccines,” Raki-in told reporters in a press conference.
She added that Caraga Region is nearing the 100 percent completion of its target for the initial vaccine rollout.
Data from DOH-13 indicated that a total of 19,270 front-line health workers were already vaccinated as of April 5.
A total of 59,740 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines were already delivered to Caraga Region as of April 6, data released by the National Task Force Against COVID-19 show. Philippine News Agency
