Another Central Luzon car thief falls

ANOTHER most wanted car thief in Central Luzon was captured by agents of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 3 in a manhunt operation in Bulacan last Tuesday, Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group director, Chief Superintendent Roberto B. Fajardo said yesterday.

Suspect Joseph Zoleta Calangi alias ‘Joseph Zimon Calagui’ a resident of Camella Baliuag in Barangay Pagala in Baliuag, Bulacan was arrested 3:15 p.m. Tuesday by members of the RHPU 3 and the Bulacan Provincial Highway Patrol Team under Senior Supt. Kirby John B. Kraft on the strength of a warrant of arrest for violation of the anti-carnapping act.

The official said the suspect was tracked down inside the compound of one Roberto Calangi in Cagayan Valley Road in Bgy. Sto. Cristo, Pulilas municipality and was immediately arrested. The suspect did not offer any resistance and opted to remain silent when apprised of his constitutional rights.

The PNP-HPG director said a P300,000 bail has been recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspect who is listed as the 4th most wanted carnapping personality in Central Luzon.

The capture of the wanted car thief came in the wake of the stepped-up effort by the PNP-HPG to account for all most wanted car thieves across the country.
