LUCENA City -- Another suspected drug pusher who allegedly engaged police operatives in a shootout was killed in Purok 6 , Bagong Silang, Bgy. Dalahican, here, on Wednesday.
Quezon police director Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman identified the slain suspect as Neil Villagarcia Arangoste, alias Hogan, 28, resident of said place.
De Guzman said Arangoste was a subject of complaint by residents in several occasions for allegedly selling illegal drugs.
Prior to the shootout, De Guzman said operatives of Lucena City Police Station under Supt. Reydante Ariza were conducting a buy-bust operation with Arangoste as the subject in front of the latter’s house.
He said right after the sale at around 12 noon, the suspect sensed that it was a police operation and that he was dealing with cops.
De Guzman said the suspect quickly ran away to his bedroom where he took a cal. .38 revolver and opened fire at the lawmen.
He said the cops fired back and hit the suspect several times, killing him on the spot.
Probers recovered three small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 1.35 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,497.50, a marked P500 bill, P3,900 cash, a mobile phone and the cal. .38 revolver used by the suspect.
