TWO separate anti-narcotics operations conducted by agents of the Cavite Police Provincial Office on Tuesday and Wednesday led in the killing of an armed suspect during a gunbattle, the arrest of three others and the confiscation of nearly P2 million worth of shabu.

Cavite police officer-in-charge, Colonel Marlon Santos said that suspect Joseph Alvin Perez alias ‘Jap’ was killed after trading shots with undercover officers of the Bacoor City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit in Acli Phase 2, Central Camella Springville Subdivision in Barangay Molino 3 around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday.

In a report to Police Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr., the official said that two accomplices of Perez identified as Jude Declaro and Mark Angelo Lapaz were arrested during the operation.

Santos said that Perez had just sold a packet of shabu to a poseur when he sensed the entrapment operation and immediately pulled out a concealed firearm and fired shots at the officer but missed.

Back-up operatives were forced to retaliate when the suspect ignored orders for him to surrender hitting the latter and killing him on the spot. A loaded caliber .45 pistol was recovered from the slain suspect along with the drug evidence and the marked money.
