A wanted murder suspect who has been in hiding over the past six years was tracked down and arrested in Marawi City in Lanao del Sur on Thursday, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police Regional Office director, Brigadier General Marni C. Marcos Jr. reported yesterday.
The official said that Dailanie Ongka Amer alias ‘Daday,’ a 31-year-old jobless resident of Barangay Wawalayan Caloocan in Marawi City was arrested on the basis of a warrant of arrest for murder issued on January 7, 2013 by Judge Wenida Papandayan of the Marawi City Regional Trial Court Branch 12.
He said that the suspect yielded a bag containing a hand grenade during his arrest and is now facing an additional case for violation of Republic Act 9516 or illegal possession of explosives.
No bail has been recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused, said Marcos.
The ARMM police director said that a team of ARMM operatives led by Lieutenant Arnold Untulan, Technical Sergeant Reggie Galao and Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Pantaleon Jr. arrested the suspect following a week-long surveillance.
Marcos said that the suspect is now being held at the Marawi City facility.
