BAGUIO CITY -- Four people on Tuesday died while 22 others, including six minors, were injured in a road accident in this city.
The victims were on their way to a campaign sortie when they met the accident.
Elizabeth Almoite Panes, 54; Richelda Almoite Abigar, 47; and Julia Labi died on the spot while Adelina Pimentel Agsaway, 68, died while being treated at a hospital, Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief information officer Maj. Carolina Lacuata said.
The wounded victims, Agnes Buarao Ag-a, 43; Judith Abiogan Siplat, 47; Robert Yaeng Sibal Jr., 21; Jonalyn Palatik Dekdeken, 26; Michael Ogayan Boligon, 39; Jovelyn Banasan Gados, 42; Shirlyn Banasan Gados, 40; Alma Dewalan Allera, 46; Mercedes Cawilan Guerero, 49; Nary Grace Gorgonia Castro, 30; Patrick Hilaria Yaeng Sibal, 56; Sally Lis-eg Balaodan, 39; John Rey Abaigar Passi; Josephine Mayocyoc Ag-a, 59; Gloria Gatarin Simsim, 64; Robert Jaeng Sibal, 21; Josephile Gayo Ligligan, 42; Ryjen Ondong Palatic, 15; Kellycent Libua Lardizabal, 14; Travis Bagayao Aliping, 13; Kyle Rector Libua Lardizabal, 10; Shantal Gados Gonnay, 5; and Zhean Castro Paylor, 5, were rushed to the Baguio General Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
Police said the victims came from the house of a congressional candidate in Crystal Cave Barangay and were on their way to San Carlos Heights Barangay for a campaign routine when the jeep driven by 23-year-old Leander Vergara lost its brakes, swerved to the opposite lane and rammed into a concrete barrier in Suello Village.
