NAGA City -- First-term Barangay Kagawad Fortune Isaac Imperial, 22, of Bgy. Tinago, here, declined a drug test for barangay officials but on Wednesday night, he was nabbed by the Naga City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (NCPDEU) for selling a sachet of shabu worth P3,500 to a police poseur-buyer.

Tinago Barangay Captain Estelita Bautista said, “Kaya pala ayaw niyang magpa-drug test... samantalang lahat na barangay officials dito nagpa-test, siya lang ang ayaw,” Bautista said, adding Imperial filed a leave of absence during the drug test allegedly because “he needed an immediate medical check-up.”

Naga City Police Office spokesperson SPO2 Tobias Bongon said the narco-village official was head of the barangay peace and order committee of Tinago.

Bongon also reported that another drug suspect, Rick Tiu, 31, of Bgy. Calauag, this city, was also nabbed by the NCPDEU on Thursday after dried marijuana leaves, seeds and two full-grown marijuana plants in two pots were found from him.

SPO2 Bongon told reporters that Tiu has been drying and repacking marijuana leaves for the last five years and has been involved in selling marijuana through “online trading”, social media and messenger. Four users were also nabbed by the police in the suspect’s residence in Bgy. Calauag.
