SAN Jose City -- Another burglary case perpetrated by suspected “Basag-Kotse Gang” member was reported to the police here on Sunday night, but this time the authorities were able to identify the suspect after watching footages of CCTV cameras installed within the vicinity.
City police head Supt. Marco Dadez identified the victims as Ronald Fernandez, 45, a contractor-engineer, and Arnold Fernandez, an overseas Filipino worker, both of Bgy. Poblacion, West Asingan, Pangasinan.
The duo were allegedly robbed by Jay R. Bejer, of Bgy. Macapsing, Rizal, Nueva Ecija, when they parked their vehicle, a gray Mitsubishi Strada pickup beside the Lugaw Network in Zone 5, Bonifacio St., in Bgy. Calaocan, at 6:40 p.m.
Upon returning, police said the victims discovered that the right rear window was smashed open and after checking, they found out that their two bags containing P15,000 cash, a Nokia mobile phone, a power bank, and personal belongings were gone, believed carted away by the suspect.
Dadez said he immediately ordered his men to review all the CCTV footages in the area which resulted in the identification of the suspect, who is now the object of their next follow-up operation.
