Basilan gunman kills 2, injures 2

POLICE have launched a massive hunt for a gunman who shot dead two persons and wounded two others in an attack in Hadji Mutamad, Basilan late Thursday night, Police Regional Office 9 director, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis D. Licup said yesterday.

The official identified the suspect as Albani Ahmad, a native of Sangbay Big Island who fled with the automatic rifle he used in shooting the victims at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

An investigation showed that the suspect went to the house of victims Abdillah Jalapuddin, 33, Nashra Akimuddin, 37, Paring Sahibad, 67, and Tadeo Sahiba, 36, looking for a son of Sahiba identified as Bassal.
