LAUREL, Batangas — Police on Sunday arrested a 40-year-old businessman for possession of gun and ammunition.
Town police station head Sr. Insp. Eduardo Timbol II identified the suspect as Lino Pornea of Bgy. Balakilong.
Pornea was arrested by virtue of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 or The Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
Seized from the businessman’s house was a cal. 45 gun, a holster, two magazines, 30 live ammunition, one empty cartridge casing, 52 live bullets, 34 live ammunition for cal. 45, one Taurus public defender with four live bullets, plastic containers filled with bullets, 25 live bullets for cal. 36 and one magazine for cal. 9mm.
Police arrested Pornea after receiving reports that he had a gun tucked at his waist while roaming the village.
There were also complaints that the suspect would fire his gun everytime he got drunk.
