COMBINED agents of the Police Regional Office 4-A and the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group on Tuesday afternoon arrested a drug-dealing policeman in Tanauan City in Batangas province, PRO4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr. announced yesterday.
Danao said the arrested suspect identified as Police Staff Sergeant Erwin Millar of the Talisay Municipal Police Station in Batangas is now facing criminal and administrative charges for grave misconduct which will lead to his dismissal from the police force.
According to the PRO4-A director, combined operatives of the Tanauan City Police Station, the PRO4-A Regional Special Operations Group, the Batangas Police Provincial Office and the PNP-IMEG under Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee arrested the suspect during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Talaga in Tanauan City at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Recovered from the rogue policeman’s possession were six pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a marked P500 bill paid to him by the poseur and a mobile phone he used in making the illegal drug transaction.
Danao said that he has ordered the disarming of the erring policeman whose red Toyota Corolla with plate no. WGF-656 was also impounded by the arresting officers.
The firearm recovered from the suspect is a PNP-issued 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol with serial no. PNP 13267 with a magazine containing 11 live ammunition.
