CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas -- Two most wanted persons charged with murder were arrested by police operatives of Lipa and Parañaque cities, respectively, provincial police PIO chief Senior Insp. Kerwin Amor Umali Cabrales said on Wednesday.
A report reaching Batangas police director Senior Supt. Edwin A, Quilates identified the suspects as Ranier Garcia Pedrosa, who was arrested in Bgy. San Carlos, while Jayson Punzalan Salud was collared in Bgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
The report said joint operatives of the Batangas Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and the San Pascual MPS personnel led by Chief Insp. John G. Rellian conducted an operation at 2:50 p.m. and arrested the suspect in Bgy. San Carlos by virtue of a warrant of arrest with Criminal Case No. 18-23275 issued on February 19, 2018 by Judge Ma. Cecilia Chua of the Regional Trial Court Branch 2, and a murder case (CC 18-23258) issued by Judge Galvez of the RTC Branch 3 on Jan. 30, 2018, both of Batangas City.
Pedrosa is tagged no. 4 most wanted by San Pascual police (provincial level) and no. 3 under LOI Manhunt Charlie.
No bail was recommended for the suspect who was detained at the police station lock-up cell.
In San Juan town, another murder suspect, Jayson Salud Punzalan, was apprehended by the town police personnel led by Supt. Rossel DM Encarnacion at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in Bgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque.
The accused, Encarnacion said, was arrested during the serving of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Rose Marie J. Manalang-Austria, RTC Branch 87 of Rosario town, also with no bail recommended.
Based on police files, the accused, together with a certain Angelito Salud Punzalan shot dead victim Rennan Misajon Sarmiento at 5:30 p.m. on June 6, 2016 in Bgy. Buhay Na Sapa.
Encarnacion said the suspect also had another pending murder case under CC No. 2016-2388 wherein he, together with Punzalan, shot victim Danilo Biñagale to death at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2016 in Bgy. Ticalan, San Juan, Batangas.
The accused was also suspect for killing another victim on May 15, 2016 and May 6, 2017, respectively. He was also allegedly identified as a gun-for-hire who is operating in the provinces of Quezon and Batangas.
