A SERIES of anti-criminality operations in Bulacan this week resulted in the killing of seven armed drug trafficking suspects following gunfights with undercover officers and the arrest of over 100 others wanted for drugs and other crimes, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said yesterday.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna said that three of the suspects were killed in gunbattles which marred the conduct of buy-bust operations on Thursday and Friday in San Jose del Monte and Meycauayan cities and in Norzagaray town.
One of the suspects identified as Anthony Santos alias’ Mac,’ a 29-year old resident of Sitio Palale in Barangay Pinagtuluyan in Norzagaray was killed in a shootout with local police anti-narcotics operatives under Lieutenant Col. Andre Manglo 3:30 a.m. Friday.
The slain suspect yielded four plastic sachets with shabu, one caliber .45 Colt semi-automatic pistol with four live ammunition and a marked P500 bill during the entrapment operation which went bloody after the suspect sensed the trap in Sitio Bilad-Bild in Bgy. Matictic.
Bersaluna said that the slain suspect is also wanted for a murder case in his neighborhood last June 6.
Another identified as Emmanuel Cabantog alias ‘Emman,’ a resident of Caloocan City was gunned down during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Paculis in Bgy. Gaya-Gaya, San Jose del Monte City 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Local police chief, Lt. Col. Orlando Castil said that three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, the marked money and a 9mm revolver with four live ammunition and a spent cartridge were recovered from the slain suspect. The suspect’s motorcycle was also impounded by the police.
On the other hand, Jomari Satur alias ‘Tomtom,’ 25, a resident of Maligaya Village in Bgy. Pajo, Meycauayan City who is wanted for his involvement in illegal drug activities and the rape of a 19-year old woman was killed in a shootout with local policemen under Lt. Col. Aquino Olivar.
