FOUR armed men, three of them suspected robbers, were killed in separate gunbattles with agents of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office on Sunday, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia said yesterday.
Bulacan police director, Colonel Emma M. Libunao, said that the three still unidentified suspects were gunned down during an encounter along E. de Guzman Street in Barangay Poblacion in Pandi municipality at 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
The suspects were about to rob a target in the area when they were encountered by officers, the official said.
Recovered from the possession of the slain suspects were one caliber .38 revolver with three live ammunition and three spent casings, one 9mm pistol with a magazine containing one bullet, a hand grenade, three mobile phones, assorted identified cards and P520 in different denominations.
The 4th suspect was killed in a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Lalangan in Plaridel municipality which turned awry when the suspect identified only as alias ‘Unta’ sensed the ongoing entrapment operation and began firing at the officers who were forced to retaliate, killing him on the spot.
Seized from the slain suspect’s possession were 20 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one cal. .38 revolver with three live ammunition and two spent casings, the marked money he received from an undercover officer and a tricycle.
Libunao said that since last Friday until Sunday midnight, they launched a total of 47 anti-illegal drug operations which led in the killing of the armed suspect in Plaridel and the arrest of 82 others.
A total of 46 most wanted men were also arrested during the period, one of them Roselito Eduarte, a resident of Bocaue who is wanted for rape.
The official added that those anti-narcotics operations also resulted in the seizure of 228 plastic sachets containing shabu, 3 plastic packets with dried marijuana leaves and the buy-bust money.
