Bulacan Sangguniang Kabataan chief dies in car crash

A 24-YEAR old Sangguniang Kabataan chairman and president of the SK Federation in Malolos City in Bulacan was killed in a freak car accident in Plaridel around 2 a.m. yesterday, police said.

Victim Marc Paolo Manaysay, the SK chairman of Bgy. Lugam in Malolos City died while being taken to the Bulacan Medical Center for treatment, said Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Senior Superintendent Chito G. Bersaluna.

An investigation showed that the victim was driving his silver Toyota sports car with plate no. NEL 68 when he accidentally hit three houses and a jeepney shortly after passing the Nabuag Bridge in Bgy. Sto. Nino in Plaridel.

Witnesses said they saw the car swerve to the left side of the bridge before hitting two steel gates, a galvanized jitney with plate no. CXE-867 and another steel gate in the area.

Due to the strong impact, parts of the car were scattered all over the place while rescuers were forced to use a mechanical cutter to pull Manaysay out of the car wreckage.

The case is still being investigated as of press time.
