LUPI, Cam. Sur - A bus ferrying passengers from Leyte and bound for Cubao, Quezon City was almost split into half, when its front rammed a dump truck loaded with sand while parked along the side of the Rolando Andaya Highway at the boundary of barangay Tanawan in this municipality early dawn of Wednesday.
Reden Alday, bus driver, told the police, he was blinded by the lights of an incoming vehicle and did not see a dump truck parked at the side of the highway.
Police Master Sgt. Jesse Baybay of Lupi MPS reported the bus mishap left three dead, two identified as Adrian Cede, 25, and Anacleto Gulingan Jr., 70, and one unidentified woman in her 30s wearing a maong jacket.
Baybay also said eight other passengers remained in critical condition, while three among them were rushed for confinement at the Bicol Medical Center (BMC) in Naga City.
