FOURTEEN suspected drug traffickers in Central Visayas were hauled to jail by the local police in separate buy-bust operations yesterday which led in the confiscation of some P200,000 worth of shabu, PRO7 Officer-In-Charge, Colonel Ildebrandi Usana said.
Ten of the suspects were arrested in an entrapment operation in Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Linao, Talisay City, Cebu around 4:20 a.m., the official said.
He identified the suspects as Jomar Taburada,29; Artele Echavez, 26; Rolando Rocaberte, 31; Juncel Villejo, 30; Eric Vistal, 34; Jake Maneja, 27; Maclin Maneja, 44; Christian Regis, 41; Welbert Canedo, 32; and Rosemarie Omagbon, 24.
Members of the Talisay City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit recovered 17 plastic packets containing 29 grams of shabu worth P136,000 and the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill from the suspects.
The two other suspects identified as Rodel Pajares.26; and Vicente Garbo,48; were arrested in a buy-bust operation in
Duterte Street in Barangay Suba, Danao City in Ceb.
Cebu Police Provincial Office director, Col. Roderick Mariano said that the suspects yielded some five grams of shabu valued at P34,000 and the marked bills paid to them by the poseur.
All suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the official said.
