Cagayan Valley cops jail 23 felons

AGENTS of the Police Regional Office 2 this week arrested 23 wanted felons during separate anti-criminality operations in the region, PRO2 director, Brigadier General Jose Mario M. Espino announced yesterday.

Six of the suspects including the top most wanted person in Nueva Viscaya were arrested on Friday, the Cagayan Valley police director said in a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Oscar D. Albayalde.

The official said that Alvin Ganceña, a 24-year old resident of Barangay Homestead in Bambang, Nueva Viscaya who is considered as the number 1 most wanted man in the province was arrested in his residence by the local police on the strength of a warrant of arrest for rape issued by a local court with no bail recommended.

Also arrested by PRO2 operatives last Friday were Chadvic Buyayo,29, a resident of Purok 2, Bgy. Dipidio in Kasibu, Nueva Viscaya who is wanted for murder;  Jet dela Cruz,21, of San Agustin, Isabela; and Juanito Lauriano,40, of Jones, Isabela, both wanted for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injuries and damage to property;

Dominador Nacional,55, a resident of Aritao, Nueva Viscaya wanted for theft; Brendo Bryan Oria, 34, a resident of Diffun, Quirino wanted for frustrated homicide; and Marine Corporal Erickson Obias who is wanted for women and child abuse.

Five others including the Top 2 Most Wanted man in Ilagan City were arrested, Espino said.

He identified the suspect as Santos Ancheta, a 37-year-old resident of Barangay Batong Labang in Ilagan City who is the subject of a warrant of arrest for two counts of statutory rape.
