A CANADIAN national was injured in a hit-and-run incident in Dumaguete City on Tuesday night, police reported yesterday.

Phillip Alexander Harris was walking along San Juan Street in Dumaguete City when he was sideswiped by a six-wheeler truck being driven by one Eddie Esconde, a resident of Pamplona, Negros Oriental.

As a result, Harris suffered a fractured left wrist and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the truck driver fled but was arrested by members of the Zamboanguita Police Station. He was later presented to the hit-and-run victim prior to the filing of appropriate criminal charges against him, said Police Regional Office 7 director Chief Supt. Debold M. Sinas.
