Cargo truck rams house, 3 killed

THREE members of a family including a four-year old boy were killed while ten others were wounded when a cargo truck fell off the road and hit a residential house  Sunday evening in Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte.

Killed were Dwayne Santiago, 4; James Bryan Santiago, 18 and Rodolfo Santiago, 60, both residents of Sitio Lipuno, Limpapa, Sibuco,Zamboanga del Norte.

Rushed to the nearest hospital were Zyramae Santiago, 11 months old; Allan Jailani; Domiciano Roxas Estenzo, 60; Roceny Calago Marcial, Sherry Jane Bulalang Estenzo, 8; Sarah Jane Bulalang Estenzo, 29; Mary Rose Estenzo Reso-Or, 37; Delmar Rstenzo Reso-or, 8 and Roderick Guevara Estenzo, 4.

The driver of the cargo truck identified as Jayson Tejeros De Leon, 35 was also wounded.

Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the accident occurred at around 7:20 p.m. beside the national highway of Sitio Lipubo in  Limpapa.  

Initial investigation showed  De Leon was driving a cargo truck going to Zamboanga City .
While traversing the descending portion of the road, the truck accidentally fell off the road and hit the house of the Santiagos and Entenzo.  

Because of the strong impact of the accident, 12 occupants of the house sustained injuries. They were rushed to the Labuan Public Hospital Medical Center.

However, three of the victims were declared dead on arrival.

The driver of the cargo truck was brought to the custody of Sibuco Municipal Police station for proper disposition.
