FIFTY-SIX men wanted for various felonies in Cavite were arrested by the local police in a series of anti-criminality operations on Sunday and yesterday, a report to Police Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr. said yesterday.
Cavite Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Marlon S. Santos said 24 of the suspects were arrested as a result of 10 separate anti-narcotics operations which led in the confiscation of nearly P40,000 worth of shabu and marijuana.
The suspects were arrested in buy-bust operations conducted in Trece Martirez, Cavite, and General Trias cities and the municipalities of Magallanes, Carmona, Silang, Indang, Tanza, Kawit and General Mariano Alvarez, the official said.
All arrested suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Santos said.
The rest of the suspects were arrested on the strength of warrants of arrests for murder, rape, estafa, frustrated homicide and direct assault.
One of the suspects wanted for rape is the no. 1 most wanted man in Amadeo municipality while three others who were facing separate murder and RA 9165 cases in Cavite City were identified as the top 3 most wanted persons in the city.
