Cavite cops kill armed drug dealer, seize P2M shabu

TWO separate anti-narcotics operations conducted by agents of the Cavite Police Provincial Office on Tuesday and Wednesday led in the killing of an armed suspect during a gunbattle, the arrest of three others and the confiscation of nearly P2 million worth of shabu.

Cavite police officer-in-charge, Colonel Marlon Santos said that suspect Joseph Alvin Perez alias ‘Jap’ was killed after trading shots with undercover officers of the Bacoor City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit in Acli Phase 2, Central Camella Springville Subdivision in Barangay Molino 3 around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday.

In a report to Police Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr., the official said that two accomplices of Perez identified as Jude Declaro and Mark Angelo Lapaz were arrested during the operation.

Santos said that Perez have just sold a packet of shabu to a poseur when he sensed the entrapment operation and immediately pulled out a concealed firearm and fired shots at the officer but missed.

Santos said that local policemen led by Lieutenant Col. Richard Ian Ang recovered three plastic sachets containing some 200 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.4 million from the suspect.

All arrested suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
