SEPARATE anti-narcotics operations conducted by agents of the Cavite Police Provincial Office this week resulted in the arrest of 89 wanted felons including drug trafficking personalities, one of them a West African national and the seizure of P6.6 million worth of shabu, a report to Police Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr. said.
“We are making big headway in our campaign against illegal drugs despite our being busy in helping Batangas residents affected by the Taal Volcano eruption two weeks ago,” said Cavite PPO director, Colonel Marlon R. Santos.
The official said that 45 of the suspects were arrested in simultaneous buy-bust operations in the province last Thursday and Friday which led in the confiscation of nearly P6 million worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine.”
Two of the suspects identified as Reiner Magbutay III and Kevin Mateo were arrested in a sting conducted jointly by members of the Bacoor City Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at the parking lot of SM Molino 12 noon Thursday. Recovered from the suspects were about 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4m million.
Another 150 grams of shabu worth P1 million and a cache of weapons including two caliber .45 pistols, one cal. 9mm pistol, one cal. .38 revolver, a hand grenade, an improvised pen gun, a tear gas and a plastic packet containing 250 grams of dried marijuana leaves were recovered during a raid in Barangay Paliparan 3 in Dasmariñas City at 3 a.m. Friday.
Eight suspects identified as Erjon Olidan, 32; his brother Erwin, 29; Renel Maravilla, 25; Joe Romero, 46; Marco Dennis Ladera, 34; Michael Domingo, 28; Cristobal Bo, 28; and Romnick Camacho, 23, were arrested during the operation.
