SIMULTANEOUS anti-crime operations in Cebu City yesterday led in the arrest of 25 suspects and the confiscation of over P4.1 million worth of shabu, Police Regional Office 7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas said.
The official said that members of the Cebu City Police Office led by Colonel Royina Marzan launched their simultaneous ‘One-Time, Big-Time’ anti-drug and anti-crime operations in the city targeting known drug and criminal lairs.
As of 1 in the afternoon, the local police had already conducted 14 buy-bust operations which resulted in the arrest of 16 known drug personalities and the recovery of nearly 601 grams of shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P4.144 million.
One of the arrested suspects was identified as Angelito Insila, a 21-year old ‘high-value target from Sitio Kaluwasan in Barangay Inayawan who was nabbed in a buy-bust operation around 3:30 in the morning.
Sinas said that the suspect yielded 20 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 500 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P3.4 million during the entrapment operation conducted by members of the Cebu City Police Station 7.
Sinas said that three unlicensed firearms have also been seized by the Cebu City police during those operations which was scheduled to last until 12 midnight.
