CENTRAL Visayas policemen over the past 48-hours arrested three suspected drug traffickers in the region following a series of anti-narcotics operation which resulted in the confiscation of over P350,000 worth of shabu, PRO7 director, Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas announced yesterday.
One of the suspects identified as Mark Tabar, a 30-year old resident of Greenbelt Drive 2 in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City was arrested by undercover officers of the Cebu City Police Station during a buy-bust operation at 6:05 a.m. yesterday.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were some 30 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P204,000 and the marked money paid to him by a poseur.
Another suspect identified as Eidwin Labares was arrested during a sting in Tres de Abril Street in Bgy. Labangon, also in Cebu City around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect yielded nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated 22 grams of shabu valued at nearly P150,000, a caliber 9mm Black Widow revolver without serial numbers, three live 9mm ammunition and the boodle money topped by two marked P100 bills which he received from an agent.
Also last Tuesday, policemen in Marijoboc, Bohol arrested a newly-identified drug personality identified as Dante Barbante,40, during a sting in Bgy. Poblacion which led in the confiscation of some P2,000 worth of shabu and the marked P500 bill paid to him by a poseur.
Sinas said that all suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
