THE Chief of Land Transportation Office-Bataan agency was sacked reportedly for irregularities, an official of the agency reported yesterday.
LTO-Regional Director Eduardo De Gusman said dismissed was Carmelito Nakpil.
De Gusman said with the approval of the Office of Assistant Secretary and LTO chief Edgar Galvante, Nakpil was replaced by Mark David as Officer-in-Charge.
The removal of Nakpil was also approved by Central Office. Nakpil was transferred to the Office of the Assistant Regional Director based in San Fernando, Pampanga.
LTO-Executive Director Romeo Vera Cruz, said based on the initial findings by the probe team, Nakpil had failed to implement proper procedures in processing the issuance of Student’s Permit, Non-Professional and Professional Driver’s License.
The probe body will also look into reports that the agency has been issuing driver’s license to foreign applicants even without the appropriate requirement in exchanged of huge amount.
“Mga allegation kung totoo umaabot sa 7 figures kaya nga iniimbeatigahan ito ng LTO-R3 para malaman kung totoo o hindi,” said De Gusman.
“Hindi dapat yan malinaw yung utos ni Assec. Galvante, Sec. Arthur Tugade lalo na si President Rodrigo Duterte, dapat zero corruption,” said De Gusman.
De Gusman quickly ordered all his Licensing District Chiefs in R3 to strictly enforce the laws in the issuance of licenses especially to foreign applicants.
