A 30-YEAR-old Chinese tourist drowned while swimming in the waters of Panglao, Bohol on Monday, a Police Regional Office 7 report said yesterday.
The body of Guang Long was plucked out from the waters in Barangay Tangnan, particularly in front of the Molave Resort in Panglao 2 p.m. Monday, said PRO7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas.
An investigation showed that prior to the drowning incident, the victim was seen snorkeling in the area. However, minutes later, some resort personnel spotted him floating in the waters.
Rescuers retrieved the body of the tourist and applied cardio-pulmonary resuscitation or CPR before taking him to the Borja Family Hospital in Tagbilaran City where an attending physician, Dr. Apollo John Bernaldez, declared him dead at around 2:40 in the afternoon, said Sinas.
The Bohol Police Provincial Office headed by Colonel Jonathan A. Cabal has informed the Chinese Embassy of the incident, the Central Visayas police director said.
