FOUR persons were killed when their military chopper crashed in Basilan due to bad weather.
Initial reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo showed the incident occurred at around 1 p.m in Bgy. Upper Manggas, Lantawam, Basilan.
The report said the aircraft of the Philippine Air Force 505th Search and Rescue Group, with tail number 202, crashed in the area.
Lantawan Municipal administrator Tahira Ismael said there was a strong gust of wind followed by a heavy downpour before the incident.
The bodies of the four on board, one of them a female, were recovered from the crash site.
Authorities said the aircraft was bound for Zamboanga from Jolo to evacuate a civilian personnel.
The incident was also confirmed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command.
