CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Several firearms and ammunition were seized by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 3 (CIDG-3) during separate operations over the weekend.
Col. Amante Daro, CIDG-3 officer, said the operations led to the arrest of several crime suspects.
In Angeles City, CIDG operatives and city cops arrested Jerico Cradua, 25, and Jhan Parutcha, 25, after poseur-buyers managed to buy an improvised firearm and two 12 gauge shotgun ammos from them.
Daro said the two are members of the Bertudan Crime Group engaged in gunrunning and drug trafficking.
Another alleged member of the Bertudan CG identified as Anderson Cunanan, 74, was arrested in a separate buy-bust. Confiscated from him was a cal. .38 revolver and six live ammunition.
In Talavera, Nueva Ecija, a certain Erwin Chioco, 47, yielded two .22 caliber and a cal. 9mm handguns and almost 100 rounds of ammunitions for the said firearms during the service of a search warrant against the suspect.
One Mario Ogot, 58, was arrested in Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija after a court-search warrant was served to him. A .22 caliber and .45 caliber handguns and a few live ammunition were seized from his residence.
In Guagua, Pampanga, a barangay kagawad identified as Eduardo Dominguez, 48, was arrested after a .45 caliber pistol and 18 pieces of live ammunition were found in his residence during the service of a search warrant.
Daro identified the arrested barangay kagawad as a”leader of the Dominguez CG involved in gun-for-hire” operating in Pampanga under file no. RFU-2020-06-005.
All the arrested suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
