CIDG nabs 5 most wanted

FIVE most wanted persons in the country were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in a string of anti-criminality operations in the countryside over the weekend, PNP-CIDG director, Majjor General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said.

One of the suspects identified as Edgar dela Peña, a suspected member of a crime group said to be involved in gun-for-hire, gunrunning and extortion activities in Zamboanga Sibugay was arrested in his house in Purok Centro, Bgy. Caparan in Ipil municipality last Saturday morning.

Coronel said that his men, armed with a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 issued by Judge Vicente dela Plaza II of the Ipil Regional Trial Court Branch 36 raided the suspect’s residence and placed him under arrest after they recovered a caliber .45 pistol, a cal. .357 Magnum revolver, a cal. .22 rifle with scope and silencers, three magazines and 34 assorted live ammunition.

The 2nd identified as Ricky Garmino, a man wanted for a qualified rape case was arrested in Bgy. Itangil in Dumaran, Palawan last Friday. A warrant for the arrest of the suspect, tagged as the no. 10 most wanted person in Mimaropa region, was issued by Judge Emmanuel Aratazo of the Taytay, Palawan RTC Branch 14.

Another identified as Ryan James Sabillano, the subject of a warrant for a murder case issued by Judge Silvia Singidas-Machacon of the Tangub City RTC Branch 16 was arrested in Bgy. Marapange in Kibawe, Bukidnon last Saturday. Sabillano was identified as the no. 1 most wanted man in Bonifacio, Misamis Occiental.

The 4th, Joel Payas, the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder and attempted murder issued by Judge Dyna Doll Chongson of the Silay City RTC Branch 40 was arrested in Hacienda Aida in Bgy. 11 in Victorias City in Negros Occidental also last Saturday. Dinas was identified as the no. 2 most wanted person in Victorias City prior to his arrest.

The 5th identified as Osoy Pepito, the subject of a warrant of arrest for attempted murder issued by Judge Ruben Bance o the San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur RTC Branch 29 was tracked down in his hiding place in Zone 1 in Bgy. Tiguma, Pagadian City on the same day. Pepito was described as the 8th most wanted man in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.
