Contractor gunned down by ‘job seeker’

A 40-YEAR-OLD contractor on Sunday was shot dead in front of his house in Padre Garcia, Batangas.

Padre Garcia Municipal Police Station chief Sr. Insp. John Conrad Villanueva identified the victim as Jerwin Operio, a native of San Jose town residing at Sitio Balingbing, Bgy. Maugat West, Padre Garcia town.

Operio was standing in front of his house when two men arrived at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday.

One of the suspects pretended to be  applying for work as a construction worker.

The victim and the suspect were conversing when the “jobseeker” suddenly pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.

Both suspects fled on an unknown type of vehicle towards Bgy. Alupay, Rosario town.
