Cops build classroom for students in Ilocos Sur

QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur – Members of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion  1 led the groundbreaking for a new educational facility that will serve the students of the Patungcaleo Elementary School in Quirino, Ilocos Sur.

Donning with hardhats and shovels, the officers launched K.A.P.P.I.A (Kalusagan Alay ng Pulis Para sa Iyong Anak), which was part of the unit’s aim to encourage students to study.

The project was first conceptualized to provide food supplement to selected pupils in different schools, especially in far-flung areas, but later to address the educational challenges in schools.

“This significant effort of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1 (RMFB1) provides huge opportunity for the children of Patungcaleo to enhance their learning capabilities and for the educators to provide the highest quality of education despite its topographical situation,”Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1 commander Col. Jovencio Badua Jr. said.

The construction of the classroom came from the proceeds of the fund- raising activity “Run for Peace 2018” initiated by the unit in Dagupan City, Pangasinan last December 14, with the motto: “If there’s love, there’s peace, if there’s peace, there’s progress.”

Badua lauded the men and women of RMFB1 and encouraged them to continue the legacy of establishing good rapport with the community and reaching out remote places in the region to deliver public service.

He said the groundbreaking ceremony symbolized new life for the people of Quirino, Ilocos Sur and will remain as an epitome of genuine public service for police officers who commit themselves not only for peace and progress but also for the welfare of the community.
