Cops gun down 2 armed drug dealers in Bulacan clash

December 06, 2019

TWO armed drug trafficking suspects were killed in a gunbattle with undercover officers of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station in Bulacan on Thursday evening, officials said yesterday.

San Jose del Monte City police chief, Lieutenant Colonel Orlando Castil Jr. identified the slain suspects as Jayvee Ancho and one alias ‘Jun.’

According to the official, the two exchanged fire with undercover officers in Barangay Gaya-Gaya after they sensed they were dealing with a cop and were killed in the process.

Castil said that Ancho is included in the watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The official said that the two have just conspired to sell P500 worth of shabu to an undercover agent when they sensed the ongoing entrapment operation and started shooting, prompting back-up officers to return fire.

Recovered  from the slain suspects’ possession were one loaded caliber .38 revolver, a home-made shotgun, several plastic sachets containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine,’ the marked money and a motorcycle.

The encounter took place in the wake of the stepped-up anti-criminality drive by the Bulacan Police Provincial Office headed by Col. Emma Libunao.

Last Wednesday and Thursday, Bulacan policemen arrested 31 law offenders including 10 with standing warrants of arrest for various crimes, nine for illegal drug activities and 13 for violation of other special laws and local ordinances.

Among the suspects arrested were Randy Timoteo, a wanted carnapping suspect; Marlon Saplala, wanted for robbery; Christian Casili, wanted for murder; and Joey Santos, wanted for rape.

The nine suspects arrested in buy-bust operations yielded 22 plastic sachets containing shabu and the buy-bust money.

All are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Libunao.
