AN armed ‘high-value drug target’ in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao was killed in a gunbattle with undercover officers in Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte on Monday, ARMM Police Regional Office director, Brigadier General Marni C. Marcos Jr. reported yesterday.
In a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Oscar D. Albayalde, the official said that Lingi Alilang Abe, a 43-year old resident of Barangay Calibao in Sultan Naga Dimaporo town exchanged fire with officers in Bgy. Mikolabo after he sensed an ongoing entrapment operation at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers returned fire killing the suspect on the spot. Recovered from the possession of the slain suspect were one caliber .38 revolver with two live ammunition and a fired cartridge, six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a marked P500 bill and various drug paraphernalia including rolled aluminum foils, an improvised tooter, seven disposable lighters and a sex toy.
A cohort of the slain suspect identified as Emen Party escaped arrest and is still being hunted as of yesterday, said Marcos.
The ARMM police director also announced the arrest of two other law offenders during separate anti-criminality operations in Maguindanao and Jolo provinces.
He said that Mamintal Arab Panarabon, 49, a resident of Central Langkong in Matanog, Maguindanao was arrested past 5 p.m. last Tuesday for illegal possession of one cal. .45 pistol with serial no. 656115 and a magazine containing three live ammunition.
In Bus-Bus, Jolo, police arrested Absal Sarahan Halud,26, a resident of Purok 6, Bgy. Bus-bus during an anti-narcotics operations 6:40 p.m.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some shabu.
Marcos said that combined operatives of the Jolo Municipal Police Staton and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Sulu Police Provincial Office were involved in the sting.
Appropriate criminal charges are being readied against the two suspects, Marcos said.
