Court issues travel restriction order vs Mayor Baldo, et al

JUSTICE Undersecretary Mark Perete yesterday said that the Legazpi City Regional Trial Court has issued a Precautionary Hold Departure Order (PHDO) against Daraga, Albay Mayor Carlwyn Baldo and five other individuals tagged in the murder of AKO Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe and his policeman-bodyguard last December.

“We received word that the Regional Trial Court at Legazpi City has issued a Precautionary Hold Departure Order against Mayor Carlwyn Baldo in relation to the Batocabe case,” Perete said.

Baldo was arrested for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

Baldo’s arrest came after a search by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on his home in Doña Maria Subdivision, Bgy. Tagas, Albay yielded guns, bullets and explosives.

Seized during the raid were two cal. .45 pistols with eight bullets and ammunition for an M203 grenade launcher and a rifle.

Possession of ammunition for a grenade launcher is a non-bailable offense.
