Crime group members nabbed for drugs, gun in Angeles

ANGELES City -- Two alleged members of a crime group here were arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Bgy. Amsic last Sunday.

Senior Insp. Arvin Hosmillo, CIDG-Angeles City head, identified the suspects as Erwin Panlican, 24, and Godofredo Coderes, 49.

Hosmillo said the two are members of the Mercado Criminal Group involved in the series of motornapping, robbery and illegal drug trafficking in Angeles City as per Reference No. CIDGAng-2018-10-014.

At past midnight, detectives of CIDG-Angeles City, together with members of the local police, conducted a buy-bust operation at the Tulay na Bakal in Bgy. Amsic which resulted in the arrest of the suspects for violation of Secs. 5 and 11, Art. II of Republic Act 9165.

Confiscated from the suspects were six sachets of shabu, a cal. .38 revolver with three live ammunition and the P1,000 marked money used in the police operation.

The suspects are also facing charges for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in violation of RA 10591.

Meanwhile, CIDG operatives in Olongapo City arrested a man facing carnapping charges.

In a report to Senior Supt. Christopher Abrahano, CIDG Region 3 chief, the CIDG-Olongapo City identified the suspect as Jeremy Dionido, 29.

A warrant for his arrest was issued by Judge Roline Ginez-Jabalde of the Olongapo City Regional Trial Court Branch 74 for two counts of carnapping with recommended bail of P400,000.
