A man wanted for cattle rustling and a suspect in robbery-hold up and gunrunning activities were arrested in separate operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 3 (CIDG-R3) last Dec. 21 and Dec. 24.
Sr. Supt. Christopher Abrahano, acting CIDG-R3 regional officer, said the operations were conducted through serving of court-issued warrants against suspects Ely Valencia, 38, in Pampanga and Ramon Dizon, 35, in Bulacan.
Valencia, a resident of Barangay Mitla in Porac, Pampanga has a standing warrant of arrest since 2014 for cattle rustling in violation of Presidential Decree 533.
CIDG-Pampanga head Chief Insp. Roland Culiao said the warrant was issued by Judge Elmo Del Rosario of Kalibo, Aklan Regional Trial Court Branch 8 with recommended bail of P35,000.
The suspect is set to be brought to Kalibo for presentation to the court.
On Christmas Eve in Barangay Camachilian, Bustos, Bulacan, CIDG operatives arrested Dizon through a search warrant issued by Judge Crisostomo Dañguilan of Malolos RTC Branch 21 for illegal possession of firearms in violation of Republic Act 10591.
Seized from the suspect were an Armscor cal. .45 with a magazine and a live ammunition and a Mitchell shotgun.
The arrested suspect was reportedly involved in illegal activities and a member of the Butuin Group involved in robbery- hold up and gun running activities that operate in Guiguinto, Plaridel, and Balagtas and other areas of Bulacan province.
