POLICE Regional Office 7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas yesterday announced the arrest of three suspected drug dealers, one of them a known ‘high-value target,’ during separate operations in Central Visayas on Tuesday which resulted in the seizure of nearly P14 million worth of shabu.
The official, in a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Oscar D. Albayalde identified the arrested ‘HVT’ as Jake Lester Esquilona, a 22-year-old resident of Sitio Kabulakan in Barangay Poblacion, Sibulan, Negros Oriental
Sinas said that the suspect was arrested while in the act of delivering shabu to an undercover officer in Purok Makugihon in Bgy. Camanjac, Dumaguete City at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday.
He said members of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office’s Special Operations Group, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Dumaguete City Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the entrapment operation under eh supervision of Lt. Col. Wilfredo Alarcon Jr.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were one big plastic packet containing two kilograms of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P13.6 million and a Suzuki Raider motorcycle which he used to transport the drugs.
The recovered drugs have been turned over to the Provincial Crime Laboratory for quantitative and qualitative examination.
