PALAYAN City -- The Sanggunian Panlalawigan of Nueva Ecija  summoned top officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways to explain the lack of appropriate safety warning  devices in on-going government projects in the province.

“Napakaraming pagawain ng DPWH sa Nueva Ecija ngunit kulang na kulang ang  safety warning devices na makikita sa mga ginagawang kalsada at tulay, na nagiging dahilan tuloy ng pagkakaroon ng maraming aksidente sa lansangan,” said board member Joseph Ortiz, of the province’s second district.

Motorist from Jaen, Nueva Ecija have complained of inadequate  warning devices at DPWH construction sites as well as  absence of concerned personnel manning the traffic.

Vice Gov. Emmanuel Antonio M. Umali said the SP will sign a  resolution directing the Nueva Ecija-DPWH and other concerned national agencies to regularly submit a list of on-going and proposed development projects in the province.

“Nakasaad  sa Local Government Code na obligado itong gawin ng national offices subalit hindi ito regular na ginagawa,” said Umali.
