Drug dealer killed in Cebu shootout

A suspected drug dealer in Tuburan, Cebu was killed in a shootout with an undercover officer who bought a packet of shabu from him Saturday evening.

Police Regional Office 7 said  Gembe Cases, of Sitio Toong in Barangay Cogon, Tuburan town, sensed he was dealing with a cop and fired twice at the officer but missed.

The cop retaliated hitting the suspect in the body and right leg.

He died while undergoing treatment at the Tuburan District Hospital.

According to PRO7 director Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas, the suspect was sitting on a parked motorcycle when he was approached by the agent around 9:10 a.m. in Bgy. Cogon.

However, the suspect sensed that the one buying drugs from him was a cop and he pulled out a .357 revolver.

Members of the Tuburan Police Drug Enforcement Unit headed by Senior Police Officer 4 Samuel Cañete recovered from the suspect three small plastic sachets of shabu, a marked bill, a cell phone and a .357 revolver with two spent casings and live bullets.
