A “high-value” drug target in Central Visayas was arrested and at least P2.360 million of shabu were seized in a buy-bust in Talisay City, Cebu.
Police Regional Office 7 director Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas said Renato Rabaya Jr. was nabbed after he sold the huge volume of the shabu to a poseur on Sangi Road, Sitio Sangi, Bgy. Tabunok in Talisay City around 11:50 p.m. Saturday.
Sinas said members of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group’s Special Operations Unit 5 led by Supt. Glen Mayam, with the assistance of the Talisay City Police Office, the PRO7 Regional Intelligence Division and PRO7 Regional Special Operations Group and the 701st Maritime Police Station, conducted the entrapment operation.
He described the arrested suspect as a member of a big-time drug trafficking group operating in Talisay City.
Sinas said the suspect is now being held at the local police lock-up facility facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
