Drug pushing bgy tanod shot dead, 5 held in Cavite

DASMARIÑAS City, Cavite -- A drug-pushing barangay tanod was shot dead by police operatives but his companion escaped while five other drug pushers in other police anti-drug operations were arrested last Sunday.

Suspect Joey Pascua, active barangay tanod of Bgy. Burol Main, this city, was selling shabu at 7:03 a.m. in Sitio Batihan, Bgy. Sampaloc 4, along with his unidentified cohort, who just acted as backup.

The drug selling process failed and a bloody confrontation occurred, killing Pascua whose back-up man escaped.

Police said the suspects were vending shabu to jeepney drivers near a known mall in Dasma where the drivers also hold shabu sessions.

In other drug operations, Edwin Palustre, of Bgy. Putol, Kawit town, was busted for three sachets of shabu while Jose Bernardo Aguilucho and Richmond Tano, both of Bgy. San Rafael 4, Noveleta town yielded five sachets of shabu, and Gerry Camarce and Patrick Camarce, both of Bgy. Tabon, Kawit were caught in possession of three sachets of shabu.
