Drug trafficer killed, 14 others held in Bulacan

AN armed drug trafficking suspect was killed while 14 others were arrested in a series of anti-criminality operations in Bulacan last Friday, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said.

The official said suspect Anthony Valerio alias ‘Anthony Guilalas’ shot it out with undercover officers of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Gaya-gaya around 12:10 am. Friday when he sensed he was dealing with a poseur and was killed in the process.

Also arrested in the same area after they were found to be engaged in a shabu sniffing session were Melvin Castillo, Ramil Baltazar, Joel Deguia, Rolly Gome,  Percilliano Baserly Jr., Elmer Altoveros, Romeo Avendaño and Ravenal Garcia.

Cajipe said recovered during the operation were one caliber .38 revolver with several live ammunition and spent cartridges, 30 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, the buy-bust money and assorted drug paraphernalia.

A Toyota Wigo with plate no AEA 6701 and a Ford Everest with plate no. ACA 6154 were also impounded by the police.

The official said six other known drug offenders were also arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations in San Rafael, Marilao and Plaridel municipalities.

He identified them as Romeo Javier Jr., Jan Rey Doroteo, Edwin Pascual, William Sanchez, Adelaida David and Hazel Ann Ladao.

Sanchez’s name is included in the unified watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police while Javier, Doroteo and Pascual are all included in the drug watch list of the Bulacan police force, said Cajipe.

Recovered from the suspects were 32 plastic sachets containing shabu, the buy-bust money and various drug paraphernalia.
