CABANATUAN CITY – An intoxicated man who assaulted with a knife three civilians and a police officer trying to arrest him was subsequently subdued and arrested here on Saturday night.
Newly-installed city police head Lt. Col. Arnel M. Dial identified the arrested suspect as Edgar Brigola, 27, helper, of Garcia Ext., Bgy. Aduas Norte, this city.
Police immediately responded to the area at 11:30 p.m. after a commotion was reported about a drunken man armed with a knife and allegedly threatening to kill a woman and two laborers, who are all neighbors of the suspect.
Dial identified the police officer as Staff Sgt. Roberto Padre Juan, 35, of Concepcion St., Bgy. Aduas Norte, and the three other civilian victims as Roselyn Mayor, 26, and construction workers Kim Eddrilon Mayor, 26, and Domingo Espiritu, 52.
Dial, who replaced erstwhile police head Lt. Col. Ponciano Zafra said his men were pacifying and persuading the suspect to surrender but he even attacked Sgt. Padre Juan with a knife.
