A drunken member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit in El Nido, Palawan who fired his rifle twice while confronting a 37-year old electrician early morning Tuesday was arrested by the local police and is now facing criminal charges, Police Regional Office 4-B director, Brigadier General Tomas C. Apolinario Jr. said.
Apolinario identified the arrested suspect as Ike Lucio, a 49-year old CAFGU member residing in New Ibajay, El Nido municipality.
The official said that the suspect was arrested by members of the El Nido Municipal Police Station following a complaint from George Paruko, an electrician residing in Sitio Pasto, Bgy. Villa Libertad.
An investigation showed that the suspect, while under the influence of liquor tried to enter the victim’s residence and later fired his issued M-14 automatic rifle twice in the air when the victim tried to block his path.
Apolinario said that local policemen arrested the militiaman and confiscated his M-14 rifle with serial no. 1405193 with two magazines containing 23 live ammunition.
