FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – At least P150,000 worth of livelihood fund was allocated by the provincial government for former rebels who returned to the fold of law in Nueva Ecija.

The 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division based in this camp said some 18 former New People’s Army rebels will benefit from the project after Gov. Aurelio Umali approved the proposal submitted by the military at the provincial capitol in Palayan City on Thursday.

7TH ID spokesman Maj. Amado Gutierrez said the livelihood fund will be sourced from the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office headed by Elvira  Ronquillo.
Gutierrez cited the 84th Infantry “Victorious” Battalion and the 7th Civil-Military Operations Battalion of the Army’s 7th ID for being instrumental in the approval of the livelihood fund.
