CABANATUAN City -- Three suspected drug pushers were killed in separate anti-drug operations in Nueva Ecija after they resisted the arresting undercover lawmen, resulting in separate encounters, it was learned yesterday.
In Quezon town, police identified the slain drug suspect as June Pineda, alias Krong-Krong, of Bgy. Dicarma, this city.
His death came after he chose to fight off anti-drug operatives during a buy-bust operation conducted at Sitio Osmeña, Bgy. Dulong-Bayan at 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The second slain suspected drug pusher was identified as Donalito Sabroso, alias Dondon, of Caloocan City, Metro Manila.
The encounter occurred in Purok 5, Bgy. Burgos, Sto. Domingo at 9:40 p.m.
Chief Insp. Joel M. dela Cruz, municipal police chief, said the suspect transacted illegal drugs with an undercover operative but after consummating the deal, the former sensed that the latter was a lawman so he pulled out his gun and shot him but the lawman was quick to the draw and killed him instead.
In Bgy. Soledad, Sta. Rosa, police identified the slain drug suspect as Michael Hitosis, 34, of Bgy. San Josef, Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija.
After the drug deal, Chief Insp. Herbert Ocumen, town police head, said the suspect drew his gun and shot the undercover operative who managed to jump off a fence and avoid getting shot, allowing his backup officer to retaliate and neutralize the suspect, who was killed on the spot.
