CAGAYAN Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Ariel N. Quilang, yesterday announced the arrest of one of the most wanted persons in Nueva Ecija during a manhunt operation in Claveria municipality.
The official said suspect Gilbert Ulip, a 51-year old famer wanted for a rape case was arrested in Sitio Salinong in Barangay Bacsay Catarawan Norte in Claveria municipality at 10:35 a.m. yesterday.
In a report to Police Regional Office 2 director, Brigadier General Angelito A. Casimiro, the official said that a team of policemen led by Majors Stanley Banan and Marlon Serna arrested the suspect, tagged as the 6th most wanted person in Aliaga, Nueva Ecija following weeks of surveillance with the help of an informant.
A record check showed that the suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for rape issued on July 28, 2014 by Judge Virgilio Caballero of the Cabanatuan City Regional Trial Court Branch 30 on July 28, 2014. No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
The suspect is now being held at the Claveria police lock-up facility pending his turnover to the Nueva Ecija court, said Quilang.
